Sonoma's 16th B-day

Yes Sonoma is 16 years old. Wow does time fly, and how it's fun to remember the day she was born. It's amazing how a beautiful baby grew up to be such an amazing young women. This year she had 2 parties, the first was with her girl friends. They played WII from 4 pm to 1 am, ate pizza and laughed alot. Her 2nd party was a family party the next night were we had the Rutledge family's over for cake and ice cream. She had Katelyn make her 2 separate cakes for each event. The first was a red velvet twilight cake "I Run With Wolves" and the other was a chocolate and white pink, purple, and black zebra cake. We all had a great time.

I, too, can remember that day as if it were yesterday.
1. Phone call-Mom, Karen, calm voice: you've gotta come. I'm in labor & they've admitted me.
2. (Back in the $$ day): Mom gets a flight by dinnertime. She is very tired. She has a very nice gentleman & his nice son (native American, or whatever the PC term is-Dad has a HUGE cowboy hat. I should've gotten a clue) who informs me I am in his seat. I'm quite indignant, & rip out my ticket stub (a real ticket stub. Printed at the airport. Not on my computer.) He has good eyesight. And informs me this plane is going to Texas.
3. Even though its been a long day and I turned left on the first gate opening instead of right and I didn't exactly read the sign telling the passenger the flight direction and the ding-dong at the gate ripped my real ticket stub and asked me if I knew where my seat was and I tell her I'm sure I can find it and she doesn't tell me I could find my seat on the plane across the way which was shutting its doors and wasn't boarding any more passengers and I never hear my name, which is not a common one, on any overhead speaker and I begin to explain that my daughter NEEDS me and she is in the hospital and is having her first baby and her husband isn't very good with this kind of stuff (boy, things HAVE changed) and I HAD to be there and the steward-attendant calls someone who called some--oh you know, and they had a hard time hearing because of my sobs and they stopped the plane from backing away so I could find my seat alright and when I do so after they put the sidewalk thingy back up to the plane and they open the door and how everyone is not happy and I walk in still having after-sobbing hiccups and go to my seat and no one bothers me.
4. Unlike "Karen on the phone in #1" Karens voice is blasting down every open hallway in the hospital: "I need drugs and I need them NOW).
5. A c-section was decided upon for many reasons, but the most important one was Bob was tired and hungry.
6. Bob brings the gorgeous baby who weighed 26 pounds out from the operating room and begins to have his knees buckle and slide down the wall (remember, he was tired & hungry). That's when I knew I was needed. I took Sonoma out of his arms before he totally went down.
